A few weeks ago on an especially beautiful early spring day, I decided to take a stroll among the mountains near my home. As I was walking along the trail, I approached a tunnel and could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I had to stop and take a few pictures, zooming in and out with my camera to get short and long range aspects of this scene which felt symbolic and spiritual.
The bend of the roadway and the bright light of day emerging at the end of the tunnel, serve as a beacon, guiding drivers through the darkness. I came home and as I was thinking about meaningful topics I could write about, the vision of the tunnel with the light emerging at the end kept appearing.
The metaphorical light often keeps us going: The light at the end of the tunnel is a symbol of hope and encouragement, keeping us going on our path. For many of us, the light at the end of the tunnel represents liberation from internal stress, past wounds, or a current situation that is challenging. Healing issues that are lingering in one's mind and body brings the freedom and lightness of being the light at the end of the tunnel represents.
Where did you last encounter a tunnel? Did you honk your horn?
